We've grown to believe that taking action is the only way for people to understand, heal from, and manage mental illness.
How are we going to accomplish this?
- Project Blue: We are on a crusade to help society understand mental illness and eliminate the negative stigma that currently hinders our ability to do so. We will accomplish this primarily through campaigns, advocating for change. We will form our nonprofit and operate it from our home, The Sol Bus.
- The Sol Bus: We are converting a bus! We will live and work in our bus full-time as our nonprofit comes to fruition. This will alow us to spend time in communities all over the states to have conversations with people about mental health. Find us on The Sol Bus Website or Follow us on The Sol Bus Facebook Page and Instagram (@thesolbus).
- Personal Blog: This is my blog. Hi, you're already here! Writing helps me think, organize my thoughts, and eventually let go of anxious ones. It calms me. Sharing my story helps me heal because I believe I will reach someone who will also find the inspiration to do the same. As you follow along, you'll hear from a lot of people (my psychiatrist, my family, my friends, and others). They will share their stories too, as it relates to my mental illness.
- The Active Spot: I've had this free fitness resource in my life for a few years now. My life has been all about sports, fitness, and health. I've lived and breathed it. When I was diagnosed with a mental illness I knew that healthy behaviors would only help me to manage depression and anxiety. I still practice what I preach. The best way to find ourselves is to lose ourselves in the service of others.
